Disability Pension Scheme in Punjab How to Apply Eligibility & Benefits

Disabled persons who cannot work and are unable to earn for their livelihood receive financial assistance from the Punjab Government and Central Government in the form of a pension which is Rs. 1500. This support helps them live with dignity.
However, there are certain conditions set by the government that must be fulfilled to avail the benefits of this pension scheme.
Financial Assistance for Disabled Individuals

Under this scheme, financial aid is provided to individuals who are blind, physically disabled, deaf & mute, and those with mental disabilities who are unable to earn a livelihood.
However, individuals with less than 50% physical disability are not eligible for assistance. On the other hand, those with mental disabilities can avail the benefits regardless of the disability percentage.

Disabled individuals in Punjab receive a monthly pension of ₹1500 from the government. This financial support helps them manage their daily expenses and live with dignity. so that disabled person can also enjoy their daily life as like as other.

- Must be a permanent resident of Punjab.
- Must have a valid Disability Certificate.
- Must be disabled with a disability percentage of more than 50%.
- The annual family income should not exceed ₹60,000 per year.
- Individuals with mental disabilities are eligible, regardless of their disability percentage.
- The disability percentage should be more than 50%.

Once the form is submitted, the CDPO will verify the details within one month from the date of submission. After successful verification, the DSSO will sanction the pension.

Eligibility Criteria for Disabled Pension Scheme in UT Chandigarh

📌 Objective: The Disability Pension is provided to physically handicapped persons who meet the required conditions.
📌 Eligibility:
- Must be a resident of Union Territory of Chandigarh.
- Must have a disability of at least 40%.
- Family income should not exceed ₹1.50 lakh per year.
📌 Pension Amount:
- ₹1000 per month for individuals with 40% to 70% disability.
- ₹2000 per month for individuals with more than 70% disability.
